Which BB weight and type should you choose for your airsoft gun?

What’s the difference between Bio and Non-Bio BBs? What does traceable mean? And which weight is best for your airsoft replica? There are many different 6mm BBs to choose from! Find the answers here!

Bio vs Non-Bio

Bio BBs are made from a biodegradable material that usually breaks down in nature within a few months. Non-Bio BBs are made from plastic and can take many years to break down. That’s why many clubs/fields require you to use Bio BBs there. Not only because they want to protect the environment, but also because they don’t want their fields covered in BBs. If you play indoors, however, there isn’t much difference between using Bio or Non-Bio BBs. Bio BBs need moisture to break down, and you don’t have that indoors, so they need to be picked up either way. If you’re wondering whether Bio BBs perform as well as Non-Bio BBs, the answer is yes—as long as you buy recommended brands of good quality.If they are of poor quality, a powder can build up on the BBs, which may cause them to get stuck in the barrel and make your weapon “jam.” If you’re environmentally conscious, follow rules and recommendations, or simply prefer bio BBs, you’ll find our full selection here! Traceable

Tracer BBs are designed to glow in the dark! They work best with a tracer unit that looks like a suppressor. It uses a powerful flash to charge the tracer BBs with light, making the BBs glow! We have BBs in both red and green.

As you can see, they light up as you shoot at your opponent! It can also be a little “intimidating” for your opponent when they see someone shooting at them. Weight

Now, on to what may be the most important factor when choosing BBs—their weight! Although airsoft guns often state which BB weight you should use, you can vary this depending on your needs and preferences. We have BBs weighing from 0.12g to 0.49g. The weight you choose depends on the gun you're using, its muzzle velocity, and where you'll be playing (indoors/outdoors and the distance from the target). Many clubs have restrictions on muzzle velocity, so using heavier BBs can give you a lower muzzle velocity and allow you to use the replica you want. Generally speaking, lighter BBs can handle a higher muzzle velocity, but they will lose speed much faster than heavier ones.If you’re playing indoors, slightly lighter BBs can work well since there’s no wind to affect where the BB hits. We usually recommend between 0.12g and 0.25g for indoor play. When playing outdoors, using heavier BBs can give you better range and accuracy. We recommend using 0.25g, 0.28g, or 0.32g. Especially if the target you’re aiming at is more than 20 meters away. Most AEGs are modified for use with 0.20g to 0.28g BBs. Even heavier BBs, 0.36g and up, work best with Bolt Action Snipers. Brands and prices

We carry our own brand, which is of good quality. If you want to buy other brands, we recommend, among others, Novritch, Longbow, G&G, and H&K. There are many good options, so we recommend trying a few different brands to find your favorite for your replica.There is also some price difference depending on the weight and brand, but generally speaking, we recommend spending a little extra (and not buying from a market in f.eks. Turkey) to get optimal performance! Poor-quality BBs offer poor accuracy, can break in the barrel, and in the worst case, damage your airsoft gun!
