What's the difference between Bio and Non-Bio pellets? What does traceable mean? And which weight is best for your airsoft replica? There are many different 6mm BB's to choose from! The answer can be found here!
Bio vs Non-Bio
Bio BB's are made from a biodegradable material that usually dissolves in nature within a few months. Non-Bio is made of plastic and takes many years to dissolve. That's why many clubs/fields require you to use bio pellets at their locations. Both because they want to protect the environment, but also because they don't want fields full of BB's. However, if you're playing indoors, there's not much difference in whether you use bio or non-bio. Bio BB's need moisture to dissolve, which you don't have indoors, so they have to be picked up regardless. If you're wondering if bio pellets work as well as non-bio, the answer is yes, as long as you buy recommended brands of good quality. If they are of poor quality, there might be a powder on the BB's that can cause them to get stuck in the barrel and can make your weapon "jam". If you're an environmental enthusiast, one who follows rules and recommendations, or just prefer bio pellets, you can find our entire selection here! Below, you see selected bio BB's!
Traceable
Tracer pellets are made to glow in the dark! These work best with a tracer unit that looks like a silencer. It uses a powerful flash to charge the tracer pellets with light, making the pellets glow! We have pellets in both red and green.
As you can see, it lights up against your opponent when you shoot! It can also be a bit "scary" for your opponent when he sees that someone is shooting at him. These BB's work best in twilight, darkness, or night. You can find our entire selection of tracer rounds here! Below, you'll see a selection of tracer BBs and tracer units!
Weight
Moving on to what might be the most important aspect when choosing BBs - weight! Even though it's often stated on the AIRSOFT's which BB weight you should use, it's possible to vary a bit depending on your needs and preferences. We have bullets in weight classes from 0.12g to 0.49g. The weight type you choose depends on the weapon you use, muzzle velocity, and where you're playing (indoors/outdoors and distance from the target). Many clubs have restrictions on muzzle velocity, so by using heavier bullets, you can achieve a lower muzzle velocity and thus be allowed to use the replica you want. Generally speaking, when playing, lighter BBs can achieve a higher muzzle velocity but will lose speed much faster than heavier ones.If you're playing indoors, lighter BBs might work fine since there's no wind to mess with where the BB hits. We usually recommend from 0.12g to 0.25g for indoor play. For outdoor play, using heavier BBs can improve range and accuracy. We then recommend using 0.25g, 0.28g, or 0.32g. Especially if your target is over 20 meters away. Most guns are modified to use 0.20g to 0.28g. BBs that are even heavier, 0.36g and up, work best with Bolt Action Snipers. Below is a simplified list of which BB weight to use for muzzle velocity measured in fps.
Brands and price
We carry our own brand which is of good quality. If you're looking to buy other brands, we recommend Novritch, Longbow, G&G, and H&K among others. There's a lot of good stuff, so we recommend trying out different brands to find your favorite for your replica. There's also a bit of a difference in price when it comes to weight and brands, but generally speaking, we recommend spending a bit extra (and not buying from a market in f.eks. Turkey) to get optimal performance! Poor quality pellets result in poor accuracy, can get damaged in the barrel, and in the worst case, ruin your airsoft!
