Choose the right type of airgun
There are many different technologies behind an air weapon. Here is an overview of the most common categories:
- Air rifle (4.5mm): Classic rifles with break-barrel or under-cocking arms. See our air rifle here.

New rules for air weapons in 2026
From February 9, 2026, a digital application requirement has been introduced for all airguns with a caliber above 4.5mm (.177). Standard airguns in 4.5mm are still registration-free for persons over 18 years of age. Remember that all weapons subject to registration must now be stored in an FG-approved gun cabinet.
Required accessories
For an optimal shooting experience you need the right ammunition and maintenance. We always recommend buying quality balls and CO2 cartridges in bulk to ensure the lowest possible price per shot.
Expert tip: To maintain accuracy and extend the life of your airgun, you should never store your gun with a punctured CO2 cartridge for an extended period of time. This can damage the seals. Also use silicone oil regularly.
