Tips and tricks for your new airgun

Safety first!

Never aim or point at people or animals. Only disengage the safety when the sights are aimed at the target. Keep your finger off the trigger until you intend to fire. Always treat the weapon as if it is loaded. Following these safety rules at all times will ensure your safety and that of those around you, making shooting enjoyable for everyone.

Experiment with ammunition

Don’t be afraid to try different types of bullets and calibers. There are many different types of ammunition, but no single answer—two identical rifles using the same type of bullet can still shoot differently. Different brands may vary in shape, aerodynamics, and weight, and you may find that a particular type of bullet works better with your weapon. Keeping a log of accuracy and performance can also help you find the perfect match. REMEMBER! If you change the bullet type, the point of aim will change. You need to adjust the sights to match the pellet you’re shooting. If you switch pellets, you’ll probably need to sight it in again.

Adjust and test regularly

If you move the sights, whether for storage or transport, it’s a good idea to check the settings. Spending a little time on calibration gives better results and makes you feel more confident in the accuracy.

Work on your trigger technique

Trigger control is often the difference between a good shot and a fantastic one. One tip is to practise without ammunition to build muscle memory and get used to pulling the trigger gently. Also practise your breathing; some people prefer to take a deep breath, let it out halfway, and then hold their breath when taking the shot. NOTE: Do not dry-fire break-barrel guns, as this can damage the piston seal.

Cleaning and maintenance with the right products

Avoid using too much oil, as this can damage the seals.Feel free to use maintenance products specifically made for airguns, and follow the manufacturer’s recommendations for cleaning and lubrication. The barrel should be dry when shooting, so run a patch through the barrel once or twice to remove any oil.

Analyze performance at different distances

By practicing at different distances and in various weather conditions, you can develop a good understanding of how your airgun performs. This will help you adapt your technique to the surroundings and find what gives you the best accuracy.
