Paracord, also known as 550 rope, is a very useful and versatile rope that can be used for a variety of purposes. It is made of nylon, which makes it very strong and is therefore very popular among people who like to be out in nature and in survival situations (bushcrafting).
If you are going to sleep outside in nature, you can use paracord to hang up a tarpaulin/tarp to make a tent or shelter to protect you from the elements. Since the rope is so durable, you can too hang up your sleeping bag/hammock and thus be sure that you can sleep safe and well!
It is also a popular tool for fishing. You can make easily make a fishing net by attaching a hook to the end. Optionally, you can add a small weight to make it easier to cast. You can also add more hooks and weights to make a more advanced fishing net. Feel free to experiment with different knots to broaden the fishing net's performance.
Paracord is also very useful in first aid situations. It can be used to make an improvised stretcher to carry a person who is injured or sick and as support for an injured arm or leg. You can also use it to carry heavy equipment or objects, or as a support bandage.
In the picture above, you see two popular things to make with paracord, a bracelet and a belt attachment for a knife. Other things paracord can be used for is making extra handles for knives, key chains, dog collars or shoelaces, just to name a few. Here, the only limit is your imagination!
All in all, paracord is excellent survival tool, with many areas of use, which makes it an important tool to have with you on trips or in survival situations. Definitely a must-have for everyone nature enthusiasts! See all our paracord products here .
