Safety first!
Never aim or point at people or animals. Make sure the weapon is on safety until you are actually aiming at the target. Keep your finger off the trigger until you intend to shoot. Always treat the weapon as if it is loaded. If you maintain these safety rules at all times, you will ensure your own safety and that of those around you, making it a pleasant shooting experience for everyone.
Experiment with ammunition
Don't be afraid to try different types of bullets and calibers. There are many different types of ammunition, but no definitive answer – two identical rifles with the same type of bullet will still shoot differently. Different brands may vary in shape, aerodynamics, and weight, and you might find that a certain type of bullet works better with your weapon. Logging accuracy and performance can also help you find the perfect match. REMEMBER! If you change bullet types, the point of aim will change. You must adjust the sights for the bullet you are shooting. If you change the bullet, you'll likely need to adjust the sight again.
Adjust and test regularly
If you move the sight, either for storage or transport, it's wise to check the setting. Spending some time on calibration yields better results and makes you more confident in the accuracy.
Work on your trigger technique
Trigger control is often the difference between a good and a fantastic shot. One tip might be to practice without ammunition to build muscle memory and get used to pulling the trigger gently. Also practice breathing; some prefer to breathe in deeply, let the breath out halfway, and then hold their breath when firing. NOTE: Do not dry fire with break-action guns, as this can damage the piston seal.
Cleaning and maintenance with the right products
Avoid too much oil, as this can damage the seals.Feel free to use maintenance products that are specifically made for air guns, and follow the manufacturer's recommendations for cleaning and lubrication. The barrel should be dry when you shoot, so run through the barrel once or twice to remove oil.
Analyze performance at different distances
By practicing at different distances and in various weather conditions, you can develop a good understanding of how your air gun behaves. This will help you adjust your technique to the surroundings and find what gives the best accuracy.
