Choosing the right scope can be difficult, but can give you an extremely high yield and accuracy with the right choice! Here in Game-On we have something for everyone! Whether you are a beginner or an expert, going hunting, airsoft games or just blink! In this guide we will go through the different specifications of a scope so that you know what you are looking for and need. We will too explain what red dot sights and laser sights are and are used for.
Are you just wondering which scope is the best? It's probably not that simple, because it all depends on what you're going to use it for and what price you're willing to pay. But good news, we have most of them! Confused when looking at the different ones? No wonder, there are an incredible number of different elements and specifications in a scope. It is therefore no wonder that you can get a little confused when it comes to choosing the right one! But we have collected everything you need to know in one guide!
Things to think about when buying binoculars
The main question is, of course, what you are going to use the scope for, but other things to note are the distance from the target, are you going to use it during the day with a lot of light? Dusk or night? How much money you plan/have the opportunity to spend is also important to think about because you can get binoculars in all price ranges. Do you have heavy recoil on guns? Binoculars have different degrees of impact resistance, so it is an important factor to take into account. Aims that do not withstand shock will be faster become worn and inaccurate. Do you need to be able to reset the sight and determine the distance? Then you should look for a scope with a click tower. You will then see adjustment options on the gear wheel at the top in the middle. Otherwise, we go through the main specifications below.
Enlargement
You can choose between fixed and variable magnification. For beginners, we recommend fixed magnification. It provides better reliability and is easy to use. This means that you choose a scope with, for example, 3x magnification. With variable magnification, you can choose magnification anywhere from 3x to 25x. Of course, it gives you more choices about how far you can be from the target, but it can also make the shot more difficult, as it will reduce the amount of light that escapes into the binoculars and thus limit the field of view.
Lens Diameter
It tells us how much light is letting in. The higher the diameter, the more light enters. If you are going to use it at dusk or in a place with little light, anything over 50 mm is recommended. For use in daylight, anything from 24 mm will be common.
Reticle
Here at Game-On, we have scopes with many different reticles, also called crosshairs. A completely normal crosshair and Mil-Dot. The red dot in the middle should make it easier to hit the target even in twilight.
There are many variants, all have the same purpose - to hit the target. But with slightly different methods.
Some reticles are First Focal Plane (FFP), which means that the reticle size remains unchanged even if you zoom in. When you zoom in, you will then zoom in on the reticle and.
Parallax adjustment vs fixed
Some scopes have adjustments for parallax which means you can set the number of meters you are from the target. That way, you will get the clearest aiming image and the smallest possible deviation between the aiming point and the point of impact. This is only necessary under high precision, but is of course fun to have and it will help with accuracy! Most of the scopes that we have are parallax fixed.
Red dot sight and Laser sight
Red dot sights are not used as much for hunting and precision shooting as they are non-magnifying. The is, on the other hand, used a lot in airsoft games as one can form a target image faster, and you can have both eyes open. This makes it easier to hit opponents which is in motion or which is close to. A laser sight is usually a red or green laser that shines at what you want to hit. It is not used much for hunting or airsoft games, but is quite fun to have for flash shooting. Just be careful not to shine light directly in the eyes of either people or animals and it is strictly forbidden to shine light on planes. You will find all our red dot sights here and all our laser sights here .
