Safe and legal storage (FG-approved)
Air guns with a caliber over 4.5mm require a permit and registration – meaning you must have permission from the police to acquire them, and your safe must be FG-approved from the first unit. This has been in effect since the weapons law came into force in 2021. What changed on 9.February 2026 marks the transition to a digital application and registration process: a new weapon register and digital weapon card with a QR code replace the old paper-based system. The requirement for secure storage remains unchanged – it's the processing that's been modernized.
