Historical flintlock rifle from Napoleon’s campaigns
This authentic Denix replica recreates a French flintlock rifle from 1807, featuring Napoleon’s distinctive emblem on the stock. The rifle is made of metal and wood and has a realistic mechanism that simulates loading and firing. An impressive collector’s piece that combines craftsmanship, history, and authentic design.
Authentic craftsmanship and realistic details
Flintlock rifles were powered by a spark from flint that ignited the gunpowder in the chamber. After each shot, the weapon had to be manually reloaded by placing gunpowder, a bullet, and a paper wad into the barrel. This time-consuming process required precision and practice, and soldiers had to train until they could perform all the movements automatically amid the chaos of battle.
Precision and power on the battlefield
Flintlock rifles were more accurate and had a longer range than the pistols of the time, but they were slower to reload.A well-trained soldier could fire up to five shots per minute, but in combat, two to three was more common. In close combat, the rifle was often used with a bayonet attached. This 1807 model represents an important step in the development of military technology during Napoleon’s campaigns.
Historical background
Napoleon Bonaparte (1769–1821), Emperor of France from 1804 to 1815, is considered one of history’s greatest military strategists. His campaigns changed Europe and established new military standards. This rifle symbolizes an era when discipline, technology, and courage shaped world history.
