Also remember that the law requires cabinets weighing less than 300 kg to be bolted to the floor or wall for the FG approval to be valid.
Safe and Legal Storage (FG-approved)
Air guns with a caliber over 4.5mm require a permit and registration – meaning you must have permission from the police to acquire them, and your cabinet must be FG-approved from the first unit. This has been in effect since the weapons law came into force in 2021. What changed on the 9th.February 2026 marks the transition to a digital application and registration process: a new weapon register and digital weapon card with a QR code replace the old paper-based system. The requirement for secure storage remains unchanged – it's the processing that's been modernized.
