BSA - Merlin XL GRT Synthetic 4.5mm Break Barrel Air Rifle - 10-shot magazine

Precise and powerful 4.5mm BSA air rifle with 10-shot magazine, GRT piston and 3-9x40 scope

BSA Merlin XL Synthetic is a modern 4.5mm air rifle for those who want high precision, good capacity and a setup that’s ready for a scope straight out of the box. This version delivers 24 joules and combines BSA’s renowned cold-hammer-forged barrel with a 10-shot magazine, adjustable CAT trigger and recoil-reducing rail. The package includes a 3-9x40 scope, so you can get started quickly.

GRT piston = smoother shooting and reliable performance

Instead of a traditional spring, the Merlin XL uses a gas spring (GRT). This provides smooth and consistent operation, and many find it to be a more predictable system over time. You load it by breaking the barrel, but with the magazine system, you don’t need to insert a pellet manually before every shot.

10X GEN3i magazine = smooth feeding and a great shooting flow

The rifle is equipped with a 10-round magazine with indexing powered by recoil inertia. This provides a smoother feeding process and makes it easy to keep up the rhythm during plinking and sport shooting.

Cold-hammer-forged BSA barrel and suppressor threads

The Merlin XL is built with BSA’s cold-hammer-forged steel barrel, manufactured in Birmingham, England, and known for its high precision and stability. The barrel is threaded 1/2x20 UNF, allowing you to mount a suppressor where applicable and legal.

CAT trigger and RRR rail that protects your scope

The adjustable CAT trigger lets you customize both the first and second stages, allowing you to set the trigger to your preference. The rifle also features an 11 mm RRR (Recoil Reducing Rail), designed to reduce the strain on the scope caused by recoil and vibrations—a major benefit for both its service life and a stable point of impact over time.

Synthetic stock with a secure grip for all kinds of weather

The stock combines a classic hunting look with modern reinforced synthetic materials. The grip, forend, and cheek rest are textured and non-slip, giving you a secure hold in all conditions. The rifle is built to withstand rough use and changing weather.

Safety and operation

The Merlin XL has a manual safety and an automatic system that prevents the trigger from being pulled while cocking the rifle (when breaking the barrel).
