Some also call it kerambit. The blade is made to imitate a tiger claw and has been a central knife in several countries in Asia. 

The karambit was originally used in Asia as a tool for farmers to pull up roots or pick rice with.

The handle is beautifully designed to provide a good grip no matter which way you hold the knife. The ring at the end of the handle gives you good control over the knife and can also be used to attach a string through.
